NTR Kathanayakudu is one of the most awaited biopics in the history of Telugu cinema. Based on the life of legendary NTR, the first part has hit the screens today amidst huge pre-release buzz. Let’s see whether the film lives up to all expectations or not.
Story:
The story of the first part is based on the life of Rama Rao(Balakrishna) who leaves his job and decides to become an actor. He is ably supported by his wife Tarakam(Vidya Balan) and very soon, Rama Rao makes it big and becomes a top star in the industry. But there is more life ahead for Rama Rao as destiny has other plans and makes him take the political route. How does he manage all of it and to know how much of it is showcased in the first part, one needs to watch the film on the big screen.
Performances:
Balakrishna comes up with a convincing performance as NTR. He is quite impressive in many getups that looked good on the later actor. This is a wonderful tribute from a son to his father. His performance in the emergency episode is simply superb. Vidya Balan has a very limited role, but makes her presence felt. Sumanth is good as ANR. Rana appears in a couple of scenes as Chandrababu Naidu. Prakash Raj and Murali Sharma are good in their respective roles. Daggubati Raja as NTR's brother is believable. There are many popular actors who appeared in cameo roles and everyone did their bit.
Plus Points:
Balayya
Krish direction
Right choice of actors
Music
Sets
Minus Points:
Too lengthy
Slows down at some parts
Technical Aspects:
What catches you right away is the manner in which the time frame is captured through the brilliant camerawork by Gnana Sekhar. He has showcased the different time frames in such a beautiful manner that you relive many of the memories yourself. What makes the camerawork even better is the superb production design. Be it the sets or the costumes or locations chosen, everything looks quite authentic on screen. Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra and those written for Balayya are clap-worthy and stay in your minds even after you come out of the theaters.
Yet another unsung hero of the film is undoubtedly Keeravani who makes things magnanimous with his music. The way he has scored music keeping the royalness of NTR is too good. His background score elevates the proceedings completely. The styling done for each artist is remarkable.
Coming to the director Krish, he has done a pretty good job with the film. He has kept the first part totally to showcase NTR the actor and showcased what the legendary actor went through in each of his crucial phases in his life. The second half has superb emotions and the manner in which NTR decides to join politics is established superbly. However, if he would have added some entertainment quotient through the heroines and made the proceedings a bit crisp, things would have been even better.
Verdict:
NTR Kathanayakudu is a fitting tribute to the later actor and a treat to Nandamuri fans. Go watch it this weekend.

Sai Pallavi Showed Her Big Heart!
Producers bet huge amounts on stars and scripts. They try to make as much as they can through pre-release business and from theatricals post release.
But recent Sai Pallavi movie, Padi Padi Leche Manasu, lost a total of Rs. 15 crores as the pre-release business did not happen at the rate producers anticipated and also movie ended up a disaster.
The producers had to pay the actress a sum of Rs. 40 lakhs still and when they called to give her the amount, she refused to take.
As the loss amount is too huge, she asked the producer to not issue the check and keep the money for some other thing.
When producers asked her parents, they also the same it seems. Well, amidst all the negativity on actresses and Film Industry, this is a positive news, isn't it?!

Who Is Pawan?: Sri Reddy's Counter To Naga Babu
Sri Reddy offered a counter to Naga Babu who launched a scathing attack on Balakrishna for asking, 'Who is Pawan Kalyan?'. She shared a video message captioning it as 'Tit For Tat Naga Babu Garu...Balayya Babu Tho Pettukunte Madatha Pettestham'.
In the video, Sri Reddy told people have been asking him to say something about Artiste Pawan. Then, She added, 'What can I say about Artiste Pawan. He is a good artiste...very talented person and does painting effortlessly. Aren't you asking about Painter Pawan Banval? I don't know any other Pawan, except him. There might be normal Pawans who talk rubbish. I have no idea whether you are aware of them'.
Thereafter, Sri Reddy shared another video with the caption - 'Ithanena Pawan Ante...Vinandi Pawan Burra Katha'. She dared to say Pawan Kalyan lookslike a thief, makes blunders while talking about great people, projects himself as a bookworm though he isn't and keeps marrying repeatedly. Sri Reddy opined there can't be a bigger bullshit than Pawan assuming he could become CM based on the chants of youth in the age group of 12-13 Years. She accused Pawan Kalyan of offering seats to leaders of his caste inspite of claiming to be not having caste feeling. 'What can Youth learn from your life story? Should they learn about your marriages? People who aren't aware of Balayya Babu are in your family. Those who sold out the party have been talking about Jagan, Babu and Balayya..Only your family could do such things,' she commented sarcastically.
As expected, Sri Reddy faced severe backlash from Mega Fans. Netizens questioned why did she remain silent when Balakrishna insulted women by saying, 'Adavallu Kanapadithe Kadupu Cheyyali'.
